Term 2 update for parents

MADANG AVENUE PUBLIC SCHOOL

Dear parents and carers

Following announcements made this week we confirm that there are two staff development days for all schools on Monday 27^th and Tuesday 28^th of April. The purpose of these days is to commence planning for the operational changes for Term 2. Staff will also be completing the packages of learning activities prepared for students working both at home and at school in the coming weeks.

From next Wednesday 29^th April until Friday 8^th of May, the department is recommending the following:

·       where possible students continue to learn from home and

·       schools will be open for those families who really need them.

Packages will be available for collection from Wednesday morning onwards. Signs around the school will indicate the areas from which packages can be collected for different grades. Please contact the school if you need packages to be delivered.

From Monday 11^th May the department is recommending that schools move to a Phase 1 approach which recommends that students attend school for at least one day a week. Our aim is to develop plans to accommodate this increased number of students on site while maintaining the health and wellbeing of staff. Details will be shared with you as soon as they have been confirmed.

The school will continue to maintain good hygiene practices with additional cleaning procedures and health checks being implemented during the school day.
